    Updated★ Fall Fund Drive Results

    Fall Fund Drive

The Fall Fund Drive has come to an end!  THANK YOU to all the families who donated!  Without your support, we could not continue to provide the programs that enrich our students and staff at Hamilton.  We raised $141,000 with 45.2% of families participating.  We increased the percentage of families participating as well as our total dollar amount from last year.  What an amazing result! Even with this success, we did fall 11% short of our overall goal. The PTSA board will be working with the school administration and staff in the next few months to prioritize the funding of programs based on the drive numbers.

We would like to thank all of the folks that pitched in - stuffing envelopes, writing emails, talking with other parents about the importance of the PTSA and all the other small details that went into making this drive successful.  A special thank you to Jennifer Stephenson, PTSA Treasurer who put in countless hours tallying the donations and following up on matching programs and Terry Doyle, PTSA VP of Communications who helped tremendously with messaging, communications, and so much more.  It was a team effort and everyone’s help was much appreciated.

Lastly, if you would still like to donate to help close the gap, the link is below.

    Letter from the Principal

    Dear Hamilton International Community,

I welcome being back from the holiday break. We all welcome the chance to spend time with our families and friends, but we love to see this community whole – students streaming off of of the busses, populating the neighborhood sidwalks, and postively running up the stairs into the school (we’ll see how long that lasts). It’s good to have all this energy as we enter the final weeks of the first semester. Some of your students will be asked to show what they’re able to do and what they’ve learned this semester, and I recommend you ask them specific questions about their learning, about their assignments, and how they would assess where they are at this point in the school year.

Mike Keran was a pillar of the Hamilton community – it’s a cliché, to be sure, but he was one of the people who held us up and it may take us a while to regain the solidity that he provided us. Mike ran Hamilton’s Ulitmate Frisbee programs over the last two years—he mastered the consdierable bureaucracy, and the logistics of field scheduling, practices, games etc. But really he embodied and propogated the spirit on the fields, a spirit that we wish for and work for—empathy of others, resilience, camraderie, embracing and celebrating diversity. Mike died Sunday. We hope we can live up to what he brought to our community.

His family has suggested DiscNW, All Girl Everything Ultimate Program (empowering girls, particularly young women of color through ultimate), and a campaign to support the recovery of a Franklin H.S. ulimtate player struck by a car on his way home from a game.

    New★ Source

Source accounts parents and guardians set up prior to August of this year with a username that does NOT match the email address on PowerSchool > Demographics > Student Contact will be DISABLED Saturday, February 3, 2018.

Some parents may still be using these old Source accounts.  When they log in, they will see an alert, but many have not taken action.  These parents and guardians can log in, but DO NOT have access to:

    • Data Verification Forms

Please encourage parents and guardians at your school to provide the same email address for each SPS student in their family to ensure continued Source access.

If you update parent or guardian email addresses, the change will take 2 hours to sync with the Source.  After waiting 2 hours, the parent or guardian will need to clear the cache on their browser, close their browser, reopen and set up their Source account with the new email address.

If parents/guardians use a smart phone to view the Source, please remind them to use a supported browser such as Chrome or Firefox and the Source URL:  http://ps.seattleschools.org  Please tell them NOT to install the PowerSchool APP as it does not support SPS customizations.
