School Supply Fee & School Supplies List

Hamilton International Middle School Supply Fee & School Supplies List

In order to make school supply shopping less onerous for families and to capitalize on our ability to save money by purchasing supplies in large quantities, HIMS has a modest supply list for students to purchase and then requests a supply fee of $50 from families to support the rest of our school purchasing needs.

Supply fees collected from families are used to supply our classrooms with composition books, folders, rulers, markers, glue, whiteboard markers and erasers, construction and graph and copy paper, library books and many other items.  Additionally, the Supply Fee Fund also enables us to purchase supplies that our teachers use every day, including but not limited to: microscopes and lab supplies, novels and texts for use in LA and SS, calculators, texts for use in World Languages classes, supplies for Art and Drama classes, and gear for our PE classes and for use by students during their lunch break.

The recommended supply list for individual students (for their personal use) is as follows:

    • 2 ½ – 3” binder for core classes
    • 1 ½ “ binder if enrolled in a World Language class
    • Loose-leaf binder paper
    • Binder dividers
    • Pencils, eraser
    • Handheld pencil sharpener
    • Highlighters
    • Pens (blue or black, red)
    • Basic Calculator(for students in 6, 7, 8th grade math)
    • Recommended (but not required) - for students in Algebra, Geometry, Algebra II – a Texas Instruments TI-84 Graphing Calculator.

Please also note that every student for 2017-18 will receive an academic planner thanks to the generosity of the Hamilton PTSA!
