Holiday treats for HIMS staff: Monday, December 16
Share your holiday spirit and baking creativity! We'll gather treats then let the HIMS staff assemble their own box to take home and enjoy. Is your family's favorite fudge, sugar cookies, gingersnaps, rugelach, shortbread, thumbprints, pound cake, rice krispie treats, baklava, dipped pretzels, brownies, cupcakes, chocolate chip cookies or something else?
Please help send our staff into winter break with extra cheer. Contributions can be dropped off in the office at the start of school or in the staff lounge by 10:00 AM on Monday, December 16th. Opportunities to provide drinks, volunteer, or loan a tiered dessert stand for the day are also below. Thank you!

Sketchfest 2019
Don’t miss Sketchfest 2019! This year’s favorite show is on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 @ 6:30pm in the HIMS Commons. All original skits are written and performed by Hamilton’s Intro to Drama Students. Get there early for the best seats! See you there!
Lost and Found
Hamilton has accumulated a LARGE collection of coats, sweatshirts, hoodies, in our lost and found. Please note that reminders to claim these items will be announced up to December 20th, last day before Break. Unclaimed items will be distributed to a worthy organization during Winter Break.
Parents are also welcome to stop by and search for any lost items.

Registration for the Winter session of Hamilton Boys & Girls Club is now open! Study Hall will begin the first day back from break, on January 6th, but our other after school clubs will begin on January 13th. FOMAHI Music News

Register for Junior Jazz Band
Registration for Winter Junior Jazz is now open.
Junior Jazz is a fee-based, after-school enrichment program that develops concepts in jazz and improvisation, that is managed by FOMAHI. Students need to have at least one year of experience on their instrument. All grades are welcome.
Fees: $100/session, financial assistance is available.
Beginning January 7th, Tuesdays and Thursdays after school, 3:55pm to 5pm.
Jr. Jazz 2 meets in the band room (124) and Jr. Jazz 1 meets in the choir room (111).

Choir Concert Thursday Dec 5
Choir Concert is 7 pm in the Hamilton Commons. Help is still need for the bake sale. This is a great and easy way to support the program.

Orchestra Concert Tuesday Dec 10
The Winter orchestra concert will be held at 7 pm at Lincoln High School. Please have students arrive by 6:15 PM in concert attire. Concert attire includes black pants or leggings, black shirt with 3/4-length sleeves, and black shoes.
Volunteers are needed to help the concert run smoothly, as well as for the bake sale. You will still be able to see your student perform, so please help us out.

Band Concert Tuesday, December 17
Winter Band concert will be held in the Hamilton Gym. Due to space limitations, the concert will be split into two groups:
- 7 pm, Intermediate and Junior Band: Students arrive at 6:30
- 8 pm, Beginner and Senior Band: Students arrive at 7:30
Volunteers are needed to help the concert run, as well as for the bake sale. You will still be able to see your student perform, so please help us out. Furthermore, there will be Banh Mi sandwiches for sale, so come hungry,

Carmina Burana at Ballard High School
The Ballard High School music program is pulling out all the stops with their free Winter Concert Series, Dec. 17, 18, and 19—and each night's finale features selections from Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana, performed by a full symphonic orchestra and choir.
You won’t want to miss the biggest night of music of the year. Enjoy three nights of performances by the award-winning BHS Choir, Band, and Orchestra programs, and for the finale, nearly 200 students from Advanced Chorale, Chamber Orchestra, Symphonic Orchestra and select winds and percussion from Wind Ensemble will combine on stage for Carmina Burana.
All evening performances begin at 7:30 p.m. at the Earl Kelly Center for Performing Arts at Ballard High School, 1418 NW 65th Street, Seattle.
Free seating is general admission (doors usually open shortly after 7 p.m.), but assigned seating can be reserved for a donation to the music program. Purchase tickets online at https://showtix4u.com; Look at upcoming events and search for “Ballard Choir Winter Concert”, etc.
In addition to the three nightly concerts, a dress rehearsal is open to the public on Monday, Dec. 16, 3:45 to 5:30 p.m. Senior centers or other groups who want to attend this daytime performance should contact Courtney Rowley at chrowley@seattleschools.org to let her know you’re coming.

Cascades Ultimate Clinics
Cascades Academy is coming to Jefferson Playfield, turf! Coaching will be Leana Girton #37 she/her, Jack Brown #88 he/him, and Zach Sabin #14 he/him. Plus a special visit- Throw with the Cascades! The team will be practicing on the next field over for our 12/14 Cascades Cup home game (mixed gender rosters). They'll swing by the last 15 minutes of the clinic and throw with our group :)

Ballard Basketball Clinics - Winter Break
Ballard Basketball coaches Sara Wetstone and Taylor Mulberg run a fast-paced, fun program for players wanting to improve all aspects of their game. From ball handling, shooting, passing, 1 v 1 to 5 v 5, players will get maximum reps in a positive, safe environment.
Details:
- For 5th-8th grade boys and girls- intermediate to advanced
- At Ballard Boys and Girls Club
- All camps 9am-3pm (Bring a lunch and snack)
- $70/camper

6TH BOYS IN-HOUSE LEAGUE
Ballard Basketball Coach Taylor Mulberg and his staff will run a skills training followed by a league game every Friday night. A great alternative to school basketball or to supplement it.

- Fridays, Jan. 10 through March 20 (Except Feb. 21) from 6:15-7:45pm
- At Whitman Middle School
- $220/player (includes reversible jersey)- Scholarships available.
