Hamilton Boys & Girls Club Program

What is the Hamilton Boys & Girls Club?

The Hamilton Boys & Girls Club (HBGC)* provides fun and enriching after school programs for Hamilton students looking to explore new hobbies, hang out with friends, or get help with schoolwork. With programs ranging from Robotics to Art and Kickboxing to Dungeons & Dragons, we have something for everyone. These activities are focused on participation and fun, and some will even satisfy students’ P.E. requirements.

*formally known as Hamilton Out of School Time or HOST

    Where does it take place?

Club members will meet up right after school in The Commons to sign in and grab a snack. They will then depart with a staff member to their separate programs in various rooms throughout the school. All of our programs take place at Hamilton International Middle School, including the gym. Any classes with trips that go beyond the Wallingford Playfield will have supplemental field trip permission forms.

    When are the after-school programs?

Our afterschool programs are divided up by seasons, so fall, winter, and spring will all have slightly different offerings. Below are our fall dates and hours:

September 23rd—December 13th (Study Hall will run until December 19th).
PLEASE NOTE: There are no after school programs on non-school days (Oct. 11, Nov. 11 and Thanksgiving Break)

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: 4:00—5:30 p.m. (snack served at 3:45)
Wednesday: Session one —> 2:45—3:45 and Session two —> 3:50—4:50 (snack served at 3:45)

What programs are available, and what do they cost?

    Study Hall: Monday – Thursday

    Pick-up Basketball: Wednesday & Friday

All other classes are once a week, with many returning favorites such as Minecraft Club, Dungeons & Dragons, and Art Club. We also have some new programs like Kitchen Creators, a merge of Baking Club and Cooking Club, and Iconic Image Explorers, where students choose famous paintings and pictures from throughout history to learn about and recreate. This program has been offered at the Wallingford Boys & Girls Club for the past 5 years and has won awards locally and nationally for its originality and hands-on approach to learning.
