    Volunteers are the Heart of Hamilton

    From baking brownies at home to working in the school library, volunteering opportunities at Hamilton are abundant and vary from one-time jobs, to on-going commitments. Volunteering is a GREAT way to support your student and connect with the Hamilton community.

    If you plan to volunteer at Hamilton in a way that will have you working directly with students (not all jobs will), please complete the following Volunteer Requirements, and return all forms to Hamilton’s front office. If you have questions about this process, please call the main office at 206.252.5810 for information!


    Current Volunteer Needs

    Staff Appreciation Luncheon - Soup & Salad
    Wednesday, Nov. 15 @ 10am

    Our second staff lunch is coming up, Wednesday, November 15th, and it will be a spread of soups/stews and salad.  Show your appreciation for our awesome staff by making a pot of your favorite hearty soup or chili.   Not a cook?  Don't worry, there are many ways to help on the signup.

    Mini-Grants Committee

    The Hamilton PTSA Mini-grants committee is looking for members. The committee needs 4-8 members to help review mini-grant proposals from the faculty and staff and decide on funding. Hamilton faculty and staff can apply for mini-grants to fund the extra supplies, tools, events or activities to support Hamilton's amazing staff and the excellent work they do with kids. The deadline for faculty and staff to submit proposals is December 15th. The committee chair will handle communications and organizing the proposals and schedule 1-2 meetings likely in January for the committee will review the proposals and decide which to fund and at what level.     Open PTSA Committee Positions

    The Hamilton Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) is searching for parents to fill the following key PTSA positions:

    •    Volunteer Coordinator  – responsible for putting out Call for Volunteer emails and notices in the weekly newsletter; creating online signup pages and connecting volunteers to event chairs.

    •    Fall Fund Drive Committee (Oct-Dec) – work with our VP of Fundraising to help with Fall Fund Drive letter mailing and crafting short articles on how Fall Fund Drives donations are spent at Hamilton.

    •    Coordinator for Incoming 6th Graders’ Ice Cream Social  (May or June event) – Welcome incoming 6th grade students and families onto the Hamilton campus to meet other incoming families, all while enjoying ice cream sundaes. The organizer for this event would work with last year's organizer to follow a well-laid-out plan from years past, and help coordinate a team of volunteers to set up, serve, and clean up.  Responsible for getting ice cream, toppings, and necessary bowls & utensils.

    •    Coordinator for the 8th Grade Promotion Reception  (June event) – responsible for cake and beverages at the reception following the ceremony.  Additional volunteers will help with set-up, serving, and clean-up.
