    Host Fall 2018 General Information

Hamilton Out of School Time (HOST) programs provide fun and enriching activities for Hamilton Int. Middle School students looking to explore new hobbies, be with friends, or get help with schoolwork. These low-pressure activities are focused on participation and fun (i.e.—Chess Club is an opportunity to learn and play the game, not to become a chess master). HOST will provide staff and mentors to engage with youth; all materials are covered by the low program fee. Several of the programs will satisfy students’ P.E. requirements. A complimentary snack is served daily. All programs take place at HIMS. Please talk to a HOST staff member if you have any questions about our programs or any of the information below.

Families that need support completing their online enrollment can contact HOST Program Director Porter Wells at pwells@positiveplace.org. Porter can work with families, by appointment, to give them computer access and/or assist in completing online enrollment. · Register online: www.positiveplace.org/hamilton (click the School Year ‘register’ tab underneath “Our Programs.”)

    · All registrants must pay a one-time Boys & Girls Club membership fee of $50.

    Transportation Information

Host will have after school activities (ASA) buses that serve areas near the school. Please check with our HOST office if you have questions about bus availability. It is your child’s responsibility to get on the ASA bus at the designated time (5:30 M, T, Th and 4:50 W). Seattle Public Schools can take as many as 10 business days to register your child, so please reserve a spot as soon as you sign up for HOST. Metro bus tokens are also available.

    Boys & Girls Club Information

All HOST participants are Boys & Girls Club members and we encourage all members to take advantage of the teen programs available at Wallingford Boys & Girls Club, which is a two-block walk from Hamilton. These programs include teen late night, a dinner program, TORCH Club service group and a FREE afterschool Drop-in program, which is available until 8 p.m. each weeknight. HOST participants are welcome to walk to the Boys & Girls Club after their HOST program ends for the day, where they can be picked up by their families.
